Los Angeles Tourism Champions GMID & Industry Collaboration

Los Angeles Tourism is proud to support U.S. Travel Association’s Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID). This annual event celebrates the vital role that professional meetings and conventions represent as one of the largest “unseen” economic drivers for communities nationwide. Not only do these events drive significant employment, local business sales, and tax revenues, in-person meetings also facilitate collaboration and discovery across countless industries. From medical conferences to forums focused on economic development, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, education, and so much more, these events fuel innovation and breakthrough ideas that improve our quality of life.

Los Angeles Tourism is proud to participate in GMID events alongside planners and partners across the country, including in Los Angeles, CA; Chicago, IL; New York, NY; and Washington, D.C. In addition, Los Angeles Tourism is once again a proud sponsor of Meeting Professionals International’s (MPI) annual Global Meetings Industry Day broadcast. This 12-hour virtual event brings together industry leaders worldwide to discuss best practices for hosting meetings responsibly, equitably, and sustainably.

This year’s GMID celebration comes as Los Angeles prepares to host the prestigious American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) 2025 Annual Meeting & Expo, reinforcing LA’s position as a top-tier destination for meetings and conventions.
